The points ladder
How a word earns 100 points
Every word climbs the same four rungs. The waiting is not a delay — it is the part that makes the word stay.
Nothing you earn is taken away.
A wrong answer sends the word back to learning and resets the clock, never the score. Points only ever go up. The only cost is time.

Read it +10
Ten points for the first honest read — definition, examples, as long as you need.

Two correct in a row +30
Consecutive, not cumulative. A lucky guess between two misses does not count.

3–7 days later
Correct again +30
Long enough to start forgetting. That is exactly the point.

3–4 weeks later
Correct again Expert
One hundred points, and the word has survived a month of real life.
Then the long game
Three statuses, and you cannot cram for any of them

Earned the moment a word reaches 100 points — about a month after you first met it.
Master
Pass the retention quiz eight months after Expert. No study reminders in between — either it stayed or it did not.
Legend
Pass the final retention quiz sixteen months after Expert. The last word on whether you really know it.
